I Expected an Interior from 2007 to Look More Dated Than This

The Evo's interior really doesn't look that bad IMO.

Kinja'd!!!

Sure, the infotainment system screen is small and the dash doesn't have any bold design to it, but it doesn't look entirely out of place in a car for 2015.

The whole car has aged rather well, I think.

It's a shame this is the last year for the Evo. Probably the last Evo ever, if we're honest.

Compared to...well, how dated their entire current lineup is, really, that isn't bad.

I'd say the outside has aged better than the inside. The beauty shots do a lot for the interior. Materials are the biggest issue with the interior. You just know it was based on the worst rental car in the mid 2000's fleet. One of the last cars that involves you and makes you invincible, but doesn't do it at the cost of communication or practicality. However, it is impossible to not get bored of this and constantly strive to make dumber and dumber amounts of power.

I was ready to be all, "2007 was just a couple of years ago!" Then I stopped and did a little math.

Get off my lawn, dangit.

Just don't look at the 2015's seats.

Exactly. The interior looks okay in professional pics, but in the flesh; it's awful.

I mourn the loss of the Recaros. Just an excuse to swap something better in?

it's the oldest thing in their lineup I'm pretty sure.

Shrink the logo on the steering wheel, and I'm yours.

This is true, but I'd rather have factory seats for daily driving purposes. Usually they aren't as space constrained as race seats. I mean come on Mitsubishi, even Toyota offered Recaro's in the Hilux Surf(4Runner). The Lumina even had Recaro's.

The Mistubishi Zero. It's arguably their most famous model. Quite powerful, fairly quick, and one of the best handling models of the day. The Hellcat finally topped it, of course.

Powered by Subaru, too; back when they made air-cooled 14 cylinder engines.

Wonder if you could swap one into an NA miata?

Sure, it doesn't look so bad in a carefully-lit and post-processed brochure picture. Having sat in a few over the years, it's not terrible. It's decent, at best. But it definitely feels chintzier inside than that picture would make things seem. Here's a less worked-over pic of the interior:

Kinja'd!!!

You can kinda see the cheap plastics and thin-looking leather a bit more clearly here.

Again, it's not awful, and I really think people have gotten a little too hung up on soft-touch plastics (which has created legions of VW fans who love to tell you about how deliciously smooth their dashboard plastic is) but if you compare it to other cars with nicer interiors, it does feel kinda crappy.
